- Concealed carry
- Eligible people can carry concealed without a permit. Optional permits are available.
- Open carry
- Open carry is generally allowed, but not in state parks or the Allagash Wilderness Waterway. Some locations require a recognized permit for concealed carry.
- Police stops
- A person carrying concealed without a valid recognized permit must immediately inform an officer during an arrest, detention or traffic stop. Permit holders must display their permit on demand.
