Cost per round (CPR) is calculated by dividing the total price of ammunition by the number of rounds in the box or case. For example, a 1000-round case of 9mm at $190 has a CPR of $0.19/rd. DOPE extracts round counts from product names and calculates CPR automatically across 19 retailers.

Every price is calculated as CPR (cost per round) by extracting the round count from each product listing and dividing by the sale price. We filter out reloading components, ammo storage boxes, and accessories — only loaded ammunition with verified round counts makes it into our tracker.

How DOPE Scores Work

Each caliber gets a D.O.P.E. Score from 0-100 based on three factors: availability (40%), price versus 90-day average (40%), and retailer count (20%). Green scores (70+) mean it's a good time to buy. Amber (40-70) is average. Red (below 40) means prices are high or stock is low.
